what should i say?

one of my good friends recently died. i am going to see his cousin who is my best friend. funerals and the concept of death in general creeps me out. what would be some good things to say to her without coming on to hard or making a joke out of it?? what are some conforting things to say?

I know this is tough but your cousin would appreciate you to just be sincere and genuine. There is nothing you can say or do to bring your friend back.
Just talk from your heart. You can be sad and upset, its allowed. Say you will miss your friend, he was a good person, its hard to deal with and you hope time will heal.
