As I recall from classes long ago....

Yes but only under limited conditions, or specific reasons and it depends on the judge. Again, the is why they call it resting you case...right?

Yes. Its called rebuttal evidence and can be admitted to rebut the other sides' evidence even afer you have rested your case in chief.
