why is this careers and employment? I never understood what was so great about the popular people. And what does bge mean?

Well, if you want to be popular, you can't be yourself. You have to lie to everyone. You have to pretend to like people you don't and pretend to hate people you don't. It's actually quite easy.
Just lose yourself and your personality and you're in. You're one of them.

Dress like them or better. Show off a talent that you have. Take care of your skin and hair, pretty nails, smell good, the right amount of makeup, play it cool, be friendly, smile, give off this sophisticated vibe. It's all in the attitude and the acting.
