I'm 12 and my voice has been changing for about 4 months now. It cracks alot and is kind of hard to talk. I understand that all of that is normal. The thing I'm worried about is this: My voice hasn't really gotten gradually deeper all that much, but it's like I have two different voices. If I want to, I can talk in my normal kid voice and have to deal with my voice cracking and not being able to speak loudly. But I also can talk in the deep voice that seems like my voice has already changed. I have a very limited pitch range when I talk like that and it makes my throat hurt sometimes. The thing is, I can feel my throat vibrating, so I'm not just talking deep. I usually try to speak in my normal voice, but sometimes I jump down to the low one on accident. So has my voice already changed or what? This is very confusing.

Luke, there is nothing wrong with your voice. It is a normal change as you realize. The thing is that this change does not happen overnight. It is nothing to worry about. Just talk and dont try to change your voice, It will decide when it wants to change.

Hopefully it is still changing. I know a 20 year old who's voice still cracks quite often. That could be what you have for the rest of your life. Probably not though, your voice probably is still changing, and for now just use whatever voice ur most comfortable with. I would go with the deep voice tho, because u would probably want to get used to that one instead of the kid voice your whole life.
