I'm the mother of identical twin girls so I hear these questions alot. Here's some key ways to tell:
1. Are they the same gender? If they are different genders then they cannot be identical twins. Fraternal twins can be the same gender so this cannot tell you if they are identical. It can only tell you if they are not. All boy/girl twins are fraternal.
2. Do they share the same placenta or amniotic sac? Identical twins can share both or they can be in seperate sacs and share the same placenta. In rare cases they can have seperate sacs AND seperate placentas. However, sharing anything means they are identical.
3. Do they have the same blood type? If they do not have the same blood type then they are not identical. Fraternal twins can have the same blood type so this cannot tell you if they are identical, it can only tell you if they are not identical.
4. If they look alike, especially by 9months and beyond then you might want to have their DNA tested. It's a simple test. Identical twins will have the exact same DNA.
5. Identical twins DO NOT always look exactly alike at birth. One could weigh more than the other, plus placement in the womb can impact their appearance. The only 100% positive way to know is through a DNA test.
hope this helps!

If your twins are identical, they will be the same sex. If they are boy and girl, they obviously aren't. Identical twins can share the same placenta, but it is not a requirement. The only way to know absolutely is to have a DNA test done, which will either confirm or deny the identicalness. If they are identical, the DNA will be as well. If not, it won't be. Sometimes the doctor can be fairly certain when they are born, especially if there is a shared placenta, but sometimes not. Most babies in a family resemble one another at birth, so looks are not always a good guide in the beginning. As they grow, though, any differences will become apparent. Even among identical twins there are variations, and the parents are able to tell the two apart fairly early and easily.

Hello there,
I had fraternal twin girls. But, looking at them, when we go places, people always say, "Identical Twins?" I say no, "Fraternal Twins".
My Grandma had fraternal boy/girl twins in the 1950's. Twins ran in my family and I too conceived fraternal twins. Do you know if you have twins in yours or your S/O's family?
I ovulate 2x a month, so my twins were in two seperate sacks, but obviously shared the same womb with a view.
You can have a blood test done to see if you will have identical twins, but it is expensive.
Hope this helps you......................... :-)

The case you describe refutes the declare that homosexuality is genetically desperate. If that have been genuine, each and every time one comparable twin became into gay, the different twin could continually be gay. bearing directly to your question as to why every physique could "pick to be gay and concern himself or herself to bigotry, animus, and discrimination," there are particularly achieveable motives. As you're saying, some "have it thrust upon them" by making use of untimely gay seduction. Others have problems arising a powerful sexual p.c. out, consistent with possibility with the aid of fact of conflicts with a parent. despite the fact that, the main compelling reason is that homoeroticism gives you waiting, decrease priced, and nameless intercourse on the drop of a hat. while arising sufficient intimacy for heterosexual intercourse could take weeks or months of costly relationship, deep verbal substitute, and in many circumstances a marriage promise, people who cruise for gay stories can locate it anonymously on the closest glory hollow (see link; warning on image suggestions). Cheers, Bruce

If they are in the same sac (water bag) then, I believe, they are from the same egg that was fertilized and then split, therefore making them identical twins.

Well, if they are the same sex then at birth a blood test will be done to see if they are identical.
