i.e for 50 quid at pilot stores you could probeley get a top, trousers and shoes in the sale but for 50 quid you could buy a top with a designer name and the quality of material is likely twice to last.

however, you cant get a full outfit cause your skit from buying just one top, so surely the bargain is more worth while!!!!

Who says you can't get quality for a bargain? There is nothing better than getting something great for a lower price and it's fun. Like you say you can go in to shops like Pilot any day of the week and get a whole outfit for that money but you get more satisfaction when you get something, maybe designer, in the sale especially if other shoppers have bought it at the top price!

I am a bit of a bargain hunter myself. To be honest i hate pilot clothes, they are quite tacky, you can get a better outfit from primark and it would probably only cost you £25.
The best way to go about shoppin is that for the special things, buy quality...like a little black dress...get a good quality one that will last you for a few years, made out of good material. But for things like t-shirts just get the basics, nice and cheap.

I think a mixture of bargains and more expensive items is good.

It does depend on how much money you have available to spend though! when buying always think do i need it? will i wear it? will i be getting my money's worth! you should take special consideration of these when you are buying more expensive garments.

Depends on how long you think you're going to want to wear it - if you want a different outfit every time then clothing of a lesser quality is probably fine as you'll get bored with it before you wear it out. If it's something like a coat that you'd wear a lot, then quality is important. It's not just down to the quality of the fabric either - a cheap t shirt will twist at the seams and probably be fairly see-through compared to a quality one. I would go for mid-range unless it's a special outfit.

The theory is good, if you can afford quality - it's always better for you to buy the best available. However, if you can't afford it, or if it's a really trendy thing, that will probably be out of fashion soon, why spend extra for something that may last a long time but be out of fashion? I like to get quality at bargain prices, myself. It makes you work harder for it, but you really appreciate what you have then!

Sometimes it is good to mix, designer names with lesser known brands which you can pick up for a bargain, lots of people do it and its works for them. So that is one thing you could consider. Also your boyfriend should realise is just because an item is expensive this does not all mean that the quality is better

It depends how much $ you have and what you value. If you would rather have (or need) a bunch of good clothes which might not be the best quality, shop for bargains. If you have enuff money to spend, shop for quality clothes.

Personally? I shop for bargains. Its almost like a game.

Unless your BF wants to go broke, stick with bargains. If you know where to shop you CAN find great quality items at a great price as well. Only splurge on certain things, like shoes etc.

If you want to buy something for life (or it matters what do you wear-suit) go for designers but if you want a cute party top, the latest fashion disaster (eg. leopard print stuff--lol) or just a pair of trousers for the gardening, go for the bargains. Usually for the time they fell apart they are out of the fasion anyway...

You can't always get better quality in designer clothes. Your just paying for the name on the label. You'd be surprised when you wash the clothes the right way and take care of them, anything will last.

by definition, a bargain, is something good for less....

its false economy if you buy cheap things which are poorer quality, however i would rather wait until the sale if I wanted some designer clothes.
