I'm significantly older than 14. When I was in school, my best friend had to wait till she was 17. I don't think you are abnormal.

Don't worry about it huni, You don't have a problem. I started when I was 13 but until then I was convinced that there was something wrong with me because I hadn't started. The truth is though, there is no NORMAL age to start, it can happen anytime from 11 till maybe even 17. There's nothing wrong with you and I think you would be surprised at how many girls there are out there your age and older who haven't started either. Just be patient huni, it WILL happen for you. Also, they're a real pain in the **** now so enjoy not having them while you can.

I got mine when I was 14. If you are underweight that can be one cause, also there is polycystic ovarian syndrome which 1/8 teen girls have. I was one of those 1/8. Sometimes women just dont start untill they are 16 or 17. Or if you have a hormone imbalance. But if you are obese, have excess hair, oily skin, skin tags, or a dirty looking ring around your neck then you may have poly cystic ovarian syndrome. Hope this helps. I was underweight an dhas pcos.

I started at 12 and have been getting it every 28-30 days since then. (I'm 17) Trust me, be happy that you don't have it right now. It is such a pain in the butt sometimes...yeah right! Most of the time it is, I should honestly say!
Enjoy your freedom while it lasts, lol. You have no reason to stress out about it. Its very common to start late, my mom didn't get hers until she was almost 16.

I didnt start my period until i was 15. Every womans body is different;it will happen sooner or later. if you dont start by age sixteen then i would go to the doctor. Although u dont have a period doesn't mean you cant get pregnant---just in case this may cross your mind. Enjoy the freedom.

Well you are not abnormal, usually you will start your period between 12-16, and even 17 could be possible. You have nothing to worry about yet, you still have plenty of time to start your period, so don't worry about it.

well its normal for a girl not to start her period by age 16 as everyone matures at a different rate as everyone else i wouldn't worry about it just yet but if by age 16 or 17 you still haven't started your period i think it would be best to see a Doctor and trust me your not really missing out on much lol

No worries, your body is on a timer, wait for it.. and dont worry. If you exercise, play sports, or are stressed it will be delayed anyway. Just wait it out. It'll happen. Besides once it gets here....... You really won't want it.
:)
My daughter had a friend whose mom started to worry about the same thing...... was going to take her to a doctor, anyway, it started before they got to the appointment and all is well.
Trust me.... wait. it will show up, probably at the most inconvenient time.
No worries.

Don't worry about it. Menarche (the onset of your period) is different for every woman even among family. Eg. I got mine when I was 12, and my fraternal twin sister got her's when she was 11. My cousin did not get her's until she was 17.

Thin, athletic people have a late onset because of their low body fat content.

I personally think you should be extremely happy! My daughter was also fortunate and didn't start until she was 15...at least you will be prepared, right? No worries, it will come with time kiddo. Not a problem at all, but more of a relief I would say. Prayers =)
