Other then getting elected by the electoral college, How does a person offically apply to run the president of the United States? Is ther application. Is there a fee?

you need to start out small ie. Mayor to state legislator to govenor, etc. you just have to be 35 or older, a resident of this country, and a citizen for at least 14 years. i think that is right. it has been a while. anyway, you need to be backed by the republcans, the democrats, or be independent. the party officially chooses you to run. they elect you. i dont know about if you run as independent. there is no official fee, but you do have to have a lot of money for advertisement in order to get as far presidential canidate. essentially, the presidential election after you turned 35, you could run as long as you were a citizen and a resident for 14 or more years. you fust would not get elcted because no one knows who you are and what you are about. that is why you need to have past experience in government.

No, I don't think there is an application or fee. I think a person just announces the fact, then advertises as much as possible. Only rich people can run for it anyway, it costs upwards of thousands to run.

You have to submit the paperwork for the primaries in those states that have them to get on the ballot. There is a fee and it varies from state to state.

There is the cheap-jack way of just going and stumping as a write-in, but that is hit and miss at best
