If one see animals that are not from this realm it doesn't negate that they exist, it merely means that they are seeing beyond this plain of existance. I have as a Totem animal the mighty Lepreachaun named Erniesta O'Latern of the Spanish Donegal and People try and tell me all the time that She doesn't exist yet I know that She does. So yes Sweetie Pie mythological Totems do exist and Your friend is really seeing those non existant armidillos. My other Totem when Erniesta is out of town ( She has a time share in the Caymans ) is Santa Claus! People are hard pressed to say Old Nicky doesn't exist eh, eh?.

Armadillos are not mythological. They are real animals, and they are pretty cute too.
I don't believe in totem animals, but it sounds like she has a neat situation to think about :)

Armadillos are not mythological. They're everywhere. So yes, they could be her totem animal.

They are not mythological. The little guys live down south and like to dig up peoples lawns. My aunt had some trouble with them in Florida. I've heard about them in Texas and Mexico.

Your friend is either an indian, who is on some kind of psychodelic drug, or a hippie.
