Solving the equation for y means that y must be isolated and positive on one side of the equation!

copy problem...
1/2(y+5)+6x=4x
distribute the 1/2...
1/2y+2.5+6x=4x
subtract 6x from both sides...
1/2y+2.5= -2x
subtract 2.5 from both sides...
1/2y= -2x-2.5
multiply both sides by 2...
y= -4x-5

Voila~ hope this helps

good the highest offers you sixteen(x^four) in view that the complete 2x is in parenthases the backside offers you two(x^four) in view that theres no parentases, so the exponent handiest applies to the x if you happen to divide the ones, you'll be able to cancel out the (x^four), and sixteen/two = eight so your reply is eight
