Its based on a book by Nicholas Sparks. Landon Carter played by Shane West is the typical badboy with no real ambitions. He plays the stereotypical popular kid. He is forced (because he gets in trouble with the law) to be in a play with a girl named Jamie Sullivan, played by Mandy Moore. Jamie is the preacher's daughter, not popular but a real do gooder. They fall in love despite their obvious differences till something disrupts their happy life (don't want to ruin it for you). Its a good movie, however as a Nicholas Sparks fan I suggest to read the book as well. Here is the IMDB website for the movie:

Its about this teenage boy and his friends there doin some dumb stuff and one of his friends get hurt really bad and the guy has to be a totour at his school and he meets the one girl Jamie(the preichers daughter) and they also make him do a school play which Jamie is in and he needs some help with his lines so he asks Jamie if she can help him so she does and he ends up fallin for here and his friends dont like that and then when he and Jamie start dating Jamie tells him that she has Lukemia(dont know if i spelled it right!) and so he sticks by her side like a good BF and when she gets better he asks her to marrie him and she does then she passes away.Very good love story!!!!!!!!

It's a GREAT movie and really emotional with great music so I would recommend it to anyone!
I don't really know how much you want to know so......
- Here's the non-spoiler summary:
It's the basic bad boy (Landon) meets good girl (Jamie) story. Landon gets arrested for *** and his punishment is that he has to be in school clubs such as drama and tutoring kids, all of which Jamie is involved in. Their relationship grows and when disaster strikes, Landon is willing to do anything to help (based on a book by Nicholas Sparks)
The SPOILER part is......
Jamie has leukemia and when Landon falls in love with her he stays with her to death, making all of her wishes come true and eventually marries her in the end before she dies.

Love. The movie is ultimately about love, but if you dig deeper you see so much more. The kids in this movie judge her from
the way she dressed. They did not know ANYTHING about her.
They had NO idea that she lost her mother when she was young
or that she was incredibly ill and could die anyday.
Basically, the moral of the story is dont judge a book by its cover.
You look at someone and you presume to know them, but really you have NO IDEA about them and what is going on in their live.
Dig deeper...........dont judge a person by their appearance.

First of all i'd like to say that i LOVE that movie. ok well it's based on the novel by nicholas sparks. he wrote the book loosely based on his sisters life. i don't know if you've seen the movie but it's about a girl named jamie sullivan played by mandy moore who is the reverend's daughter. she doesn't really fit in because of the way she dresses and her beliefs. she's teased by the "popular" people which includes landon carter played by shane west. he ends up getting in trouble and having to do community service like starring in a play which jamie is also in. well the unlikely end up falling in love despite what landon's friend's say. but jamie has leukhemia and it really tests their love. if u haven't seen the movie i recommend that u do. hope my info was useful :)

it's about an extremely religious girl who loves music...she writes the music to a school play, and the school "bad boy" gets into trouble and is forced to be in the play. the two fall in love, and the bad boy turns into a good boy. then we find out that the religious girl has leukemia and is dying, so the guy asks her to marry him, and they get married, and then she dies. the end. good movie though.

it is about a cool guy and a somewhat nerdy girl. the cool guy gets punished for something and he has to spend time with the girl. he realizes that she isnt as much of a dork as he thought she was and takes an intrest in her. i really reccomend this movie to anyone ages 13 and up. its good. the book was also good

a bad boy type of guy fell in love with a goodie-good girl who has cancer or about to die, then he helps her to fulfill her dreams before she dies. very sad movie. but i like the notebook better

this gurl has cancer and is an outcast but in the end she gets all pretty and people start liking her/ i did't relley like the movie
