I am 4 months pregnant, having loss of hair while in shower and after hair is dry. Keeps falling by the bunch. Is there any vitamins I could take to help with the hair loss. This is my second pregnancy and it was way different than my first. With my first I didn't have any hair loss. Please Help.

Take your vitamins, but not just for your hair. It's actually a myth that prenatal vitamins help with hair/nails. But you need the extra stuff like iron and folic acid.

About the hair being dry and falling out, that might be caused by low thyroid hormonal levels. Call your midwife's office and ask her to be tested. Other low thyroid symptoms include feeling cold, and being overly fatigued.

GOOD LUCK!

I am in my 2nd pregnancy also-6 months and I loose alot of hair after a shower and with combing-I dont think it is anything to worry about though.Don't take any vitamins other then your prenatel-that could hurt the baby.If you are really worried call your OB and ask him what to do.

Im a stylist and I see this alot. You may want to talk to the doctor because there can be underlying problems with hormone levels or thyroid dissorder. I always started my clients on a shampoo and cond. called nioxin( get it in salons) this helps slow the process of hair loss- good luck and congrats!

You should be taking prenatal vitamins. They are not only imperative to take to help keep your baby healthy, but they also cause your hair and fingernails to grow like crazy. I would talk to your doctor about this, but it sounds like it shouldn't be a big deal.

Are you taking your pre-natal vitamins? If not, you should get on them NOW--both for your baby and your hair's sakes. It is supposed to be very helpful to healthy hair and (for some people) nails.
