the english language has many rules and many acceptions.. and its dyslexia

Because people try to spell things like the sound. And this is a word that you cant sound out in order to spell.

Because it's a medical term with different roots --
Dys (for lessen) and "lex" (book or word).

Medical terms and dysfuntions are often this sort of combination, which makes them difficult to spell (even when it would seem that the word should be simple to spell, say for someone with dyslexia!)
