No, i like to think about what may have been,
it's like creating your own story without any
sadness to disrupt the imaginary conversations,
the pretend places that last as long as one wishes,
separating any difficulties that perhaps intruded
in real time which was a struggle to cope with,
like a parallel universe to what may have been actually
lives on, a place to fall back to when sadness enters
ones day or silent evening, it is creating a positive
crutch to hold on to, even if it is only within the faith & flare
of the mind....
It never hurts to imagine what if ...........
Reaching out far in the measure of time
is a gateway to anything one can imagine as to
how ones life may have been, our mind can
show us any landscape we wish to create for ourselves,
it's all in the mind where our true happiness may lay
when reality is so painful .....

Not to often do I keep myself from pondering on what has happened and what could’ve been. I know that everything happens for a reason and everything has a purpose but never the less, I contemplate on the what could have, the what should have been. It’s like my own thoughts are against me. It’s like I have no control of my own mind but before I know it there they are again the very things I want to forget, the things I’m trying not to think about are in the past, can’t change them but there they are like a bad habit that I can’t break. Oh well the good thing is that as the days go by my thoughts of the past become less frequent.

Reflection is good every so often, but dwelling on what cannot be changed is pointless and usually leads to regret and possibly resentment towards someone or even yourself. If a decision in your past bothers you because you feel like you made a poor choice, then try to make better decisions in the future. Think things through - try to imagine all possible outcomes and go with your heart. That's the advice I try to live by...now. There was certainly a period of time in my life where I did dwell a bit too much in the past and it held me back. In so many ways. Living in the past is one decision I wish I had stopped making sooner...now I know better, so I try to do better.
Hope it helps!

Nope. No point, can't change the past! So you are much better off thinking, what are the best choices I can make today, and how might they affect my future?
Learn to be happy with who you are today rather than dwell on the past. The past created who you are today so if you had made different choices, you may have become a completely different person (maybe someone you wouldn't like to be!!).

I try, sometimes more than others, not to think of what might have been. I think about the things that I've done that I'm not proud of. I keep in mind, that I am a different person than I was back then, and I also know that the only person you can't forgive is yourself. It helps, but I can't help but think that my life would be different.

I try not to think about it, but sometimes the past comes flooding back and no matter what I always wondered what would've happened if I hadn't done this or would've done that. It's just natural, I'm happy with my life because I've learned so much through the mistakes I've made.....it's great!!!

Yes I think about a girl I once dated for a summer ( at that time it was the longest I ever dated a girl ) and she went back to Florida.
She later sent me a letter inviting me to come stay with her in West Palm Beach .... I never reponded or went.
But take your time, think a lot, think of everything you've got.
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not.

Oh, Itty.... I think about it every day.
Sometimes I allow myself to think about it. Other days, I try not to think about it. There is nothing that can be done about those things anyway, and thinking too much about them only makes me sad.
I'm still holding on to the hope that one day, all these things will come full circle and I will end up happier than I've ever been.

I used to live in the past, but it didn't benefit me at all. Just made me depressed and frustrated. I was always like what if I had done something different and what not..
