As a girl, I have friends that are girls that I talk and hang out with. But another girl I know has told me that she doesn't get along with girls and usually only has guy friends...why do you think this is?

also...this woman is in her early 30s, married and has 2 children. She has even said to me that even though she usually doesn't like hanging with girls, that I am cool, and am the exception. My boyfriend (for over a year) works for her. And now she is confiding in him and is getting a divorce from her husband. I trust my boyfriend completely but I dont' feel comfortable with her getting so close.

That's how I am. I feel so much more comfortable around guys because girls judge other girls way to much. (not true for every girl) But most girls I met never really heard me, but looked at what I wore, what my hair looked like, if I had the latest kind of fashion. All materialistic it seemed. I'm more like the guys who would rather goof off now matter what you look like. Don't get me wrong I have a great sister and an a few best girl friends, but we all seem to be the same way. Girls are tough to get along with!

I don't really prefer girlfriends or boyfriends but I do find that males don't seem to sweat the small stuff and aren't controlled by their hormones as much as some females. Me personally I am married with 2 kids too, and I don't let anyone get closer to me than my husband. He is my best friend and I am his which is hard to accomplish. People get jealous of our relationship allot. Like if he goes out and stays out until 12:00 midnight then a friend would say um mm girl he didn't answer his phone once so he's cheating. Cheating cheating cheating that's all girlfriends were good for. Or how about this one. A lady I once knew told me that she fell in love with a married man and didn't care that he was married and had a baby boy by him which now the married man has nothing to do with. Another GIRLFRIEND was going out with this guy got pregnant and then had an abortion and I swear a week maybe 3 weeks later she was back on the scene again. So ya see I don't have time for all of that mess. So either socializing or guys is what's best for me too!

My guess is she is like me, I've tried having friends that are girls and they have always let me down. I will trust them and tell them something that is a secret and the next day the whole school will know. They also like to put you down when you are already in a bad mood. I dont know if I was just bad at picking my friends that were girls of if they are all like that.
So i turned to guys. They really dont have the need to tell everyone everything you tell them. Also, when I am in a bad mood they actually make me happy. I do get called a slut sometimes because girls tend to get jealous and say I sleep with all of them. But that is just another reason I dont trust girls.
If you are trying to be her friend it may take a while but all you have to do is show her she can trust you!

I'm the same way. I only get along with guys for some reason. I don't know if it's a competition thing, or if it's something else entirely. Maybe I've had too many experiences with girls talking about me behind my back or being two-faced...

Im my experience girls are too much drama always wanting to start something, hook up with ur man, lie, start rumors, theres so many things. yes i agree guys are way easier to get along with most of my friends are guys. Dont get me wrong i have 1 best friend thats a girl but thats only cause i can completly trust her every girl should have a great girl friend to confide in. Sisters are great for beings friends to.

Its usually one of two reasons. The girl is really pretty and finds other girls dont treat her well. Or its that girls really aren't good friends. They will stab you in the back, they are jealous and only concerned with their own fun. That's what I have found anyway. I too enjoy male friends much more.

I think there can be a number of different reasons.
Some women are intimidated by other women, and some think that women are catty and don't like the drama.
Some women just might have more common interests with men. It depends on the person.
I think it is great to have men and women friends.

some girls are just so... catty and mean. they talk behind your back and you can never trust them - that's the reason i have trouble trusting lots of girls. it seems like they can ALWAYS create drama, and guys barely ever do. maybe she feels judged by other girls or they just bring out the drama queen in her, which she hates. maybe she just plain trusts guys more. i know that i usually do.

probably because she has had negative experiences with other girls. she proabably dealt with a lot gossiping or rumors, etc. you know, the whole girl thing. if not, she probably has a lot more in common with guys rather than girls. she can be a lil tomboy-ish also and it isnt a bad thing.
however... you'll never know her answer unless you ask her yourself. it's a prefernce in her lifestyle.

It could just be girls in gerneral. Girls are VERY harsh sometimes and she might think boys are better friends than girls. It doesnt really mean anything. Boys,in my opinion, are better friends than girls.
