I was discussing some differences between Republican conservatism and Democratic liberalism in the US with an Evangelical pastor yesterday (Nov. 12), and I was surprised to hear him express the serious consideration of abandoning the United States as the world Evangelical HQ.
The reason, he siad, was the Democratic party's gaining of power over the country's legislative system, which meant the upper hand for all those who call for the separation of religion from state, and the abolishing of all visible religious forms from public places and schools and the "under God" term from the pledge of allegiance and so and so. He finally put it, "because there's no telling just when the US would come to a sudden breakdown, which is very likely, given all the moral regression plaguing the nation".
So, where do we stand on this one; Republican conservatism, or Democratic liberalism; who's out to save America?

For their peace of mind, the evangelicals, fundies, apostolics, charismatics, snake dancers, KKK, and log cabin republicans should all try a different country, like Paraguay. A lot of the moral degradation would go with them.

Republican conservatism will preserve us. Democratic liberalism will turn us into Europe, which is on the verge of being taken over by Islam. The libs are pushing us towards socialism, which fails tiime and time again. And socialism requires supression of religion, since religion presents a higher power than the state. Socialism in turn breeds laziness, apathy, and a low birthrate, which opens the door for the extremists to take power, first by the importation of their ideology through immigration, brought about by the need for cheap labor. When the immigrants reach a certain percentage, they expect concessions in society, and through high birthrates and more immigration, eventually will become the dominant culture.

I agree with the pastor in that the center of Christianity is shifting away from the United States. It's actually shifting to Brasil, India and China where it will ultimately end where it started...the middle east.

I do believe that the breakdown of the family and morality contributes greatly to the deterioation of society. Hopefully, we can keep men and women in the government who will protect our families and moral values. Both parties have corrupt people in them. I hope we can keep people of integrity in power.

As Rome fell so shall we it's only a matter of time. I forget the professor's name but if I remember right he is at Cambridge University,he outlined the progression of democracies how they rise and slowly crumble. We are going into the last stage according to the time line.
