Are you suggesting that's low? Because without knowing what percent of the GENERAL population that started work on degrees and went on to finish, we can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Maybe only 3% of white women who pursued degrees graduated. We don't know.

Additionally, consider that for a four year degree, every year only 25% of those working toward that degree are even ELIGIBLE to graduate. That is, 25% are freshmen in college, 25% sophomores, etc. So only a fraction of those "pursuing degrees" are going to graduate in any given year. We can't tell from you statistics whether you're saying "X percentage of those in their fourth year of a four year degree graduated" or whether this means that only 35% of the black men who start work on a degree will EVER finish.

I don't know what the real stats are on this. But I believe that a pretty hefty number of people who start college never finish. I don't know if that's higher for minorities. I would suspect it would be because they'd be at a disadvantage every step of the way education-wise...being more likely to come from lower income families, being more likely to get a lousier education all the way through school...these things would make higher education more difficult for them.

But your stats don't tell me that...they're completely meaningless.

Because they are too occupied with sports, sex and thinking that the minority white population are out to get them. Oh. I suppose drugs might play a factor also. What the hell kinda question is that?
