If the politicians actually cared about your issues, gay marriage would be illegal as would abortion.

Because their leaders pander to them, because it is one of the largest voting blocs in the nation, interconnected and well organized.

I know everyone thinks I'm a "neocon", but I truly despise Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson, and think they are bad for my country

why do homosexuals try to force their lifestyle into politics? everybody has an agenda.

edit: your new statement is curious. You dont want to change the constitution but you dont want religion in it. the problem is our founding fathers wrote that constitution on the basis of christian values. I am a big opponent of organized religion and probably religion in general but that is what this country is founded on and you cant change that to appease someone else. You are taking away the freedoms and beliefs that have been stated since the creation of the United States of America because you dont believe in religion. Thats hypocritical. Granted they may have taken some liberties in putting religious effects and such but I just take it for what its worth.

Because they think EVERYONE that doesn't believe like them is going to hell. When in reality, its those who have so little tolerance for different ideas, lifestyles and belief structures who will have to answer for their shortcomings. I find it funny how those who cry the loudest about gays, abortion, drugs and the like are usually the ones who get caught buying crack from gay male prostitutes while getting a "massage".

Its also strange that Jeff Gannon, the gay prostitute who had a White House Press Pass and visited the West Wing over 200 times (often late at night), never really got much press coverage. George? Carl? Is there something you 2 would like to tell us?

Maybe if they spent more working on their OWN ISSUES and less time worrying about others, they would be a little more understanding of others.

It's another way to exert power. Just think of what a wonderful world it will be when armed forces can enforce morality! It even worked in Iran for a few years.

They are fighting sin, thats what their religion is all about--fighting sin...other peoples sin. Oh sure they might do unusual things, they might drink or look at porn or have a girlfriend or a daughter who needs an abortion, but reality means nothing to them, its all fantasy and delusion. So they fight sin. Which means how other people chose to lead their lives. This should have been outgrown 300 years ago but theres so much money in it and power and glory for the preachers.

Making Christians accept Abortion and homosexuality would be like republicans asking for liberals to make prayer in school mandatory.

Duh????????
Every group tries to influence politics with their beliefs.
EVERY group and every individual.
Look at Al Qaeda and the terrorists openly supporting the Democrats in last weeks election.
Why would you just pick out the Christians?
Are you a bigot?

I have no idea, money?
The bible is clear, religion and politics should stay separate "men can not rule men"
"give to God what is God's and to Cesar what is Caesars"
Jehovah's witness's although extreme and not of my taste have several publications full of where the bible states to keep religion out of politics and politics out of religions. A shame so many use the bible to thump on others and not to read.
