Learn to play sudoku, bridge, mah jong, or some other game, volunteer at a hospital or seniors home or SPCA or soup kitchen or somewhere else that interests you, join a gym and start a weight training program, take an inexpensive trip - bus trip with a friend?? Check your local newspaper for community events - you might be surprised what you will find there. Sometimes supermarkets offer interesting evening cooking classes. Begin putting together interesting gifts for friends and family if you celebrate the Christmas season in that way (do a search for "gifts in a jar").
I am sure many others here will have interesting ideas for you. Most of all, have fun and enjoy life! Best of luck.

You can go to a local YMCA they have cheap or free classes on things like crafts, sports, and other hobbies. I like going up there and just swimming or playing tennis with some of my friends. I think it's a great drug-free kind of a place to hang out. You can also see if your town or city has a visitor's center. You can ask the people there if they have any ideas on things that you can do. They are there to help people find things to do while they are in town so I think that would be a great choice too. <3

Get out and get some exercise. If it's cold where you live, you may want to go to the mall early and walk for about an hour (or before it gets too crowded)
There are agencies that can use your help during the holidays: The Salvation Army and local Boys and Girls Clubs, Senior centers, etc. If you have a Good Neighbors in your area, you may want to call them and help them out. Help is needed to pack boxes of food and deliver them to needy families.
good luck and have a nice break.

Do you have a lot of old pictures? The reason is I love to scrapbook and it can be a great gift to friends and family. I just got married and did a book to have everyone look at during Christmas. Try it if you can. Have fun being off!

there are some great crafts to keep you busy. trying beading or jewelry making, knitting or other yarn crafts (very hip right now) take a pottery class, or try candle and soap making. it is very satisfying to look at the things you have made, and with the holidays coming up you could even give your crafts as gifts! anyone would love a warm scarce or a pretty candle, even more if you made it yourself! have fun!

You should get out everyday. Take a walk in the park. Go to the movies. Hang out with your friends. There are so many alternatives.
