My 4 1/2 month old starting getting angry a few weeks ago when I would hold her to feed her. She needs to be sitting by herself in a chair with a head support. I dont know what I am going to do when we go out...Has this happened to anyone else??.

when my son was around 5 months he wanted to be lying on his own when being fed, it must be baby's this age already gaining Independence!! lol, i don't think he liked it when he would fall asleep while having his milk then i would have to move him so he preferred to be where he wouldn't be disturbed maybe its the same for your daughter! when you go out just feed her in her car seat or her pram!!

good luck!

If she can't sit up without head support, she's too young for solids. That's what my son's pediatrician told me.
Sorry, I just reread this, I thought you meant solids! There's been so many mamas on here talking about feeding 1 month olds solids that I jumped to conclusions, my bad. My son did the same thing for a few weeks, I had to rock him while he was drinking a bottle or he had to be distracted by a toy or tv (baby einstein) for me to feed him. Sometimes I fed him in his bouncy chair, it's not a good idea to have them lie completely flat or they can get ear infections. It was just a phase thankfully!

Get yourself a Bumbo. They can sit without support in these chairs and they are great for feeding in when you're out. She's becoming aware of the fact that she can be somewhat independent so she may want to eat on her own now.

Until my daughter was sitting up properly, I fed her in her swing or in her car seat.
