Having worked for Apple Computer for 5 years, I can tell you that it can sometimes take a few weeks for the production line to switch completely to the latsest software and to sell out of the stock of boxes with the previous versions. Sometimes even the sales staff will tell customers that they guarantee all new computers will have the new version of OS but this is not always true. I would suggest waiting two or three weeks after any new software update that you are craving before buying a new computer and don't trust the words of a salesperson, especially when they say "Oh, yes, I am sure it will most likely have Leopard." The Apple online store does not offer exchanges as a standard policy. Be safe, not sorry.
