I just called Best Buy. The guy said that he couldn't tell me. So I asked if he would know by Friday. But then he clarified that he meant that he is not allowed to tell me. This is how all new console releases work. I couldn't understand why the Wii was up for $700 in eBay. That's because these guys are guaranteeing it. When it comes to Best Buy, you'll be waiting outside for tens of hours, maybe to find out the guy in front of you go the last ticket (they hand out tickets corresponding to how many Wiis there are). I also tried asking Target, and they said the exact same thing. Even if somebody knew, they are not allowed to tell you.

Now do you see why it is selling so high on eBay? I couldn't figure out why, but now I know. Guess I'll have to get to Best Buy even earlier so I can 'secure' my spot. Bottom line, if you're waiting in line, you're serious about getting one. You're risking wasting tens of hours to get the system. Best of luck!

It will all be variant up on individual stores. You should calls yours and ask. Some stores will get more than others depending on location, demand, etc.

Nintendo, however, will have over 4 million units at launch, unlike the PS3 which will only have 400,000, so you should have a pretty good chance of picking one up.
