I voted Straight democratic ticket for the first time in my life, because I am fed up with the soaring national debt, the focus on the war on terror, focus on tax cuts instead of providing incentives for lower income Americans, the scandals in the Republican party, and the sad state of the American family values. I also feel that it is dangerous to have no checks and balances between the two political parties when one party dominates the legislative and executive branches of government. My primary source of information is the Internet. We do not have TV and I very seldom read newspapers.

I usually try to evaluate each office I'm voting for and see what each candidate stands for.

This time I voted a straight Republican ticket, for a specific reason. I think that the next two years were to be the best chance to get the supreme court back on track. We need justices who will interpret the constitution, not make up new laws as they see fit. (i.e. Roe v Wade)

I believe that the conservatives who either voted third party or stayed home to "show those politicians we mean business" really shot us all in the foot. Pres. Bush might be appointing two more justices in the next two years. With the outcome of this election, and shift in power, those two justices will be less conservative than they should have been. We have just insured that this country will continue killing the unborn and furthering the un-godly causes of the homosexual activists until the US becomes a Muslim country. When that day comes (and it is coming), the abortionists and homosexuals will be wishing the Christian Right could please rise up again and take over.

As a republican I watched general news, read local papers, listened to the radio, talked to friends. By heart am a conservative. I think most politicians are crooks, that this country needs a strong third party as a viable option. All that said, I couldn't sleep at night if I voted for most Democrats.

Information researched from a variety of sources including The World Almanac, Encyclopedia Britannica and many other reference books. I discovered some fascinating facts from this research. For example did you know that the largest average annual increase in Global Warming gas emissions in the US occurred during the Clinton Administration, and that these emissions actually declined during the first three years of the Bush Administration? Or that most of the growth in Global Warming gas emissions between 1980 and 2004 occurred in three Asian nations whose economies were among the fastest growing in the world during that time? (Mainland China, India, and South Korea) Or that Bill Clinton signed into law a Congressional resolution accusing Saddam Hussein of having and trying to develop WMDs and calling for regime change in Iraq on October 31, 1998? Or that the President Clinton conducted an extensive aerial bombing campaign against Iraq during the last 25 months of his term? Or that there were 15 times as many U.S. casualties in the three day Battle of Gettysburg than there was in three and one half years in Iraq? Or that the largest Federal budget deficits measured by inflation adjusted constant dollars occurred during World War 2?

The only influence available in my state was mudslinging.

I saved all 7# of mailings until the election was done.

I deleted over 200 calls from my voice mail.

Only the governor ran a positive campaign.

I voted Republican because with all of the crap the dems were slinging they never said WHAT they were going to do. Too bad the rest of the country fell for their drivel. Bye-bye money, hello tax increases.

I did not vote for Demon-rats! I understand what Mahmud Ahmadinedad has planned and I don't like what he has in store for us! I do not believe in negotiating with untrustworthy terrorists! The Demon-rats stand for everything I am against.
