My husband and I are going to try for our first baby this month. I am hoping we conceive the first month, but I know it can take a few months. I just went off the pill, so I am nervous it may take a long time!

Did you get pregnant the first month of trying? If so did you just go off the pill?

How long did it take you to conceive?

P.S. I am in my mid 20's, healthy and my doctor said I can start trying right after stopping the pill. :)

Of course, all women are different, but this is my story:

I was on the pill for 10 years. I stopped taking the pill around June 12th and our baby was conceived around July 3rd (she was born April 3rd the following year). Because I hadn't yet had a period after I stopped taking the pill, it was hard at first to tell how far along I was. When I had my first ultrasound, they thought I was going to be around 8 or 9 weeks along, but it showed I was only 5 weeks at that time.

Good luck!

It took me 3 months (we weren't trying) to get pregnant with my son 3 1/2 years ago. This time I have been on the pill for almost 2 years. My pills got messed up in September and October was a mess, but I never came off them. It's november now and I'm pregnant.... so it's just when your body gets it's cycle back and decides to ovulate. They usually say to wait about 3 months before trying just to get your cycle regular again and to get the hormones out of your body. Some women can take up to a year to finally conceive after being on the pill.

i stopped the pill and started trying a few days later, that was end of july begining of august. i was pregnant by the begining of september. but because i was on the pill before i still got my period for september and kept trying for a whole month and when i went for my pregnancy test in the end of october i was 6 weeks! so even if you get a period if anything about it seems not right you might be pregnant. getting off the pill usually makes you more fertile sometimes you have a few sterile cycles though. good luck!!!

Some women can. Others take awhile.

It's sort of like getting your period. The more you stress about your period, the longer it stays away. So it seems that if you stress about conceiving, the longer it will take to get pregnant.

Try not to "think" or "worry" about conceiving. Just concentrate on the pure enjoyment of sex, and see if that helps with relaxing your nerves so you can conceive quicker! Good luck to you!!!
