That is the song What I Am by Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians. It came out in the late 80s and it was their only mainstream hit. Edie is married to Paul Simon, whom she met backstage when they were both on the same episode of Saturday Night Live (he was hosting and she was the musical guest.)
