Direct current or D.C (symbol is a solid line over a broken one) is a form of Electrical current that is produce by a (cell) battery or (cells) Batteries or when AC(AC symbol ~) current has gone through a rectifier and has pass through the capacitors that stabilize the current flow,by whipping out the variation in both magnitude and direction.

However the main difference between the two is that with Direct current you do not have to convert as it is stable and is compatible with your every devices in the home.

"I guess by now you must be asking". why do we need Alternating current? 1 good example;it is able to be transmitted over large areas by transmission lines by raising the Voltage as to lesson the impact of resistance, which if it was DC this would not be possible as more power would be loss due to the presence resistance in the wires.Another example is that while Alternating Current Varies in both Magnitude and direction which occures every 60 seconds,DC only travels one way, which eliminates that problem.

Don't the rest of you get the question...? Direct Currents used to be the name of the DC comics editorial page, where they would talk about coming attractions in their titles, etc. The category is comics and animation...! Hello, anybody there...?

DC is usually associated with electronics and batteries. Even though you plug electronics into the wall, they have internal power supplies that convert them from AC to DC.
