On the news last week, I saw one cop punching the -excuse my language- crap out of that Mexican's face. The cops shouldn't do that even if the guy resists arrest. Using force should only be used as a last resort in a serious situation.

The cops are really wierd. I was pulled over once as a suspect in an armed robbery. Or that is what they said. They said my car fit the description used in the robbery. I was ordered to toss my keys out the window with my right hand, open the car door with my right hand, get out of the car with my back facing them and my hands held up in the air. I was then told to get on my knees. I was unable to due to chronic back and leg problems. I told them this but they just came and boweled me over, maced my face, handcuffed me and put me in the cruiser. They would not give me any water for my eyes and interrogated me for 7 1/2 hours before they finally found out that the perp was a white guy. Im black. As a result of their actions, I now have more permanate damage to my spine. They caused disc herniatiations to my lower back. Already had some in upper back. Now I cant walk farther than about 20 ft. without my right leg giving out on me. This was in 1996 and the lawsuit has still not been settled. Of course all of the officers were cleared of any wrongdoings but I was granted permission by the court to pursue the lawsuit. I once respected authority figures but now I hate them all as they all come from the same school. Even to this day, I am pulled over a lot by the police in an attempt to harras me. This happens about 4 to 5 times a week. They have given me more than 20 unjustified tickets and I challenged all of them in court. Wouldnt you know it, each and every time, the officers do not show up for court and my tickets are dimissed. Sorry about the long winded story but it helps me get rid of the anger I feel whenever I see things like on the news last week. As far as I am concerned, they are nothing more than a legalized gang that has the right to get out of control. I didnt need 8 officers to be all over me in my situation.

One of them seemed to also have a knee on the man's chest. I don't understand why , with the man down, they couldn't have gotten cuffs on without punching him in the face like that. I wish there was more video to be seen. I heard that they used justifiable force.

I think cops may get frustrated with people and don't think clearly at times. They may start to see everyone as criminals and not people. Kind of like when I used to work receiving payments and constantly having people complain I would get sour and think everyone was negative and would get surprised when they were nice.

Most cops are ego maniacs who use their authority to bully people and beat them up...especially the undercover cops...It sucks that the only way to monitor their behavior is by policing them ourselves with our camcorders !

Your argument is ridiculous. There are guidelines that protesters could follow as a thanks to maintain the peace. regrettably, the Occupy protesters have earned a popularity of not following those guidelines because they haven't any pastime in holding the peace.

Because cops suck. They have a little authority and like to show people who has the power in any situation they can. I had a "Cops Suck" bumper sticker on my van and got pulled over for no reason several times. When I pointed out that they had no right or real reason for pulling me over and asked them if my bumper sticker ticked them off, some were honest enough to admit it. To that I say, "I still have my freedom of speech and the right to voice my opinion, and if you pull me over because you don't like my bumper sticker you have issues with the fundamental principles of the Constitution!"

if a guy resists arrest how do you subdue him wthout force? what do you consider "serious"? Maybe mail him a letter saying they kinda believe he should turn himself in, if he has time?
