I have a 2001 GMC Sierra and the passender window all of a sudden stopped going up or down. When I press the button, it still makes the noise like it is trying, but the window doesnt move. It broke one day when I just rolled the windows down and heard like crunching noises and the window just got stuck. Now I have to push it up and it stays for a while but comes down with bumps. Im just afraid it is going to cost a fortune!

your window regulator shot craps. they used to be serviced only as an assembly (motor and regulator) but nowdays you can buy them separately. the right hand regulator should set you back $120.00 + tax and labor. if you've never done one it might be a challenge for you. also, if it keeps falling down in the door it will most likely break (the glass that is) costing you a bunch more money. good luck.

I got power windows and had to replace the motor. it's a pain if your not a mechanic. but it can be done. you can get one at a salvage yard.....if that is the problem. it's either the motor, which has plastic gears or the track that pushes the window up. you'll have to pull off your inner door covering to see what is broke. most salvage yard motors are around 50 bucks. if you want new, go to napa.or online at JCWhitney.com

You would have to remove the door panel to see what's going on. Sounds like it jump the track.
To keep the window in place before it falls and break-es, try using a wedge pushed in between the glass and door frame. Two wooden shingles stapled together work-es great - I know - have same problem.........Good Luck!
