Classic is right; not only is Ccleaner free but it works, and its safe. You can back up the registry before you delete.
Unlike other registry cleaners it won't delete something just because its a duplicate file - Windows uses duplicates.

CCleaner is good and so is RegSeeker. Be sure you have the program backup your registry before deleting any entries. Registry cleaners are programed to recognize legit entries. They can and will lists legit entries it is not programmed to recognize and you can then delete them. The Backup will allow you to restore and fix any mistakes.
