Who really cares???
My cousin is mangled in Germany right now because he stood up for the America cause...and yes it is an America cause. Try as you will. Blame who you will. Say, what you must of Pres. Bush. But he had the best interest of the USA when going into Iraq and/or Afghanistan.
I have an idea: As a former Veteran of Iraqi Freedom. Write a soldier, sailor, Marine. Anyone over their and ask their views. While you dare sit and ask such a wasted question.
War has no mission, other than beat the other side. I use to think like you and if you search my answers you will see such rhetoric but, not anymore. I stand with the troops, I do my part. I did my part I put my life on the line so you can type this. But, thanks for at least knowing there is a war.
Lest we forget, Afghanistan the forgot war
Thanks

No, because the "Mission" was not just to oust Saddam, but to install a stable democracy in the Mideast.
This was not like Gulf War I, where we just wanted an awful dicatator to leave a (relatively) free, small allied country after he invaded it. The goal was regime change (either because Saddam was an imminent threat [the stated reason] or because he was a despot who deserved to be ousted [the second-stated reason] or because we wanted a democracy in the region, and Iraq was as good as any [another possible reason].) Certainly, that's not been accomplished, and it probably will not be accomplished while we're there. Iraqi leaders are admitting that American forces are doing more harm than good, and Bush's own adminsitration have released documents showing that there is a net negative effect to the American presence in Iraq.

When Bush said that ,the Mission was accomplished. Our men and women of the military had done an outstanding job and toppled the Iraqi government and won the war. Now we are in a botched occupation and in the middle of a civl war that has no end in sight!

Hardly. No weapons of mass destructiion were found, that's one excuse (not reason, difference) of why we're in Iraq. The second was Saddam, who's been in prison for years now, and was sentenced to death about a month ago, was he not? Plus, the situation in Iraq is increasingly deteriorating, Osama, Kony and L'il Kim still haven't been dealt with, and amongst this, anyone who opposes the war is considered a terrorist appeaser or the like. Matter of fact, just for posting this, I'll probably get a ton of hate mail, even (God forbid) reported.

There is no question that we have to wrap this situation up as soon as possible. But there are some contingences with that plan. We need to leave when the government is stable, the civil unrest has relinquished and the 08 elections are near because that is the soonest anything will happen.

there was never a predetermined end to this conflict. There were no WMD, no bio weapons. Theythen stated that they must topple Hussein's administration because he is harboring terrorist, America has more terrorist than Iraq. They then stated that we must stabilize the country before we considering pulling American troops. Everything george bush and the republicans said was a complete lie and it cost them their offices.

The New York Times had a headliner a few days ago telling of Sadams nuclear plans. He had everything he needed to put together a bomb within 1 year. Good thing we stopped him . According to papers found in one of his offices he was planning an attack on Israel. - unprovoked attack....
Also - isn't it nice the terrorist are attacking in Iraq and NOT in New York City? Fight on boys!!
