Can anyone hep me with this question? First of all, I don't have insurance and cannot see a doctor. I go through my local free clinic. Now, this past summer, late august, I got a period, and on my first day, I was doubled over in pain from cramps, bleeding was normal, lasted four days, was fine afterwards. The next period I got was the same thing, intense menstral cramping, was fine afterwards. In September, my period came a week later than it was supposed to and when it did come I had a slow heart rate and felt really weird. Well, eighteen days later, here I am on my period, with a slow heart rate, no cramps, and had heavy bleeding so much so that i bled through a tampon onto a pad yesterday. My chest also is kinda hurting so what I wanna know is...is tere any reason for alarm. This is all very new to me, and I am not on any birth control or have been sexually active. I am scared to start my next period because I am afraid of my heart stopping all together...

ok, first of all, you need iron! You're not supposed to self-medicate with iron, but if you're having heavy bleeding and slow heart rate, it's a good start. Floravital (sp?) is what I take, and it is very absorbable.
and... GO TO YOUR FREE CLINIC IMMEDIATELY!!!!!! slow heart rate isn't something to mess around with. There are also doctors that will talk to you on the phone if you're thinking about becoming a new patient.
Don't delay your health, especially with stuff like this. I'm not saying you need to freak out, just go to your clinic as soon as possible, so you can at least know how to remedy the problem, and prevent any damage being done to your body!
