Pres. Bush now has the opportunity to draw up his quick exit timetable from Iraq. Why oh why is his junior partner Prime Minister Blair complicating things by insisting that Israel and Palestine must be resolved at the same time?

Because this junior partner is a bit smarter that his senior partner. Iraq and Israel/Palestine and of course, Iran, are all part of the same unresolved story - Middle East.

Big problems are more easily solved when you break them into smaller manageable problems, not by taking large problems an putting them together into HUGE, problems.

Peace between the Israeli and Palestinians may or may not have a solution. Restoring order in Iraq should be possible. Establishing an American or British style democracy, may not be possible or even something anyone would want. What we should be focusing on is to establish an Iraqi style democracy, what ever that may be.

Probably because blair doesn't want the troups out of Iraq, he has said it is not the right time to withdraw. He needs America's troups there to back ours up. Blair knows the Israel/Palestinian thing will not be resolved, it has been going on years and a solution is yet to be found.
