It's spelled "Buddhism". Wikipedia is a good start. There are in general two forms of Buddhism: Mahayana Hinayana Mahayana practitioners are to wait for all other sentient beings to attain Buddhahood/Nirvana before they go themselves.
Hinayana practitioners are working toward their own individual Buddhahood/Nirvana.
