I'm the original 60's man. I became a teenager in 1960 and grew up through that wonderful decade when music was really born. Prior to that we had stuff like Perry Como and Frank Sinatra but as soon as the Beatles arrived the music scene exploded. I loved the Beatles and was lucky enough to see them play and meet them. I've never seen anyone better. I still play in a 1960's Rock and Roll Showband even though I'm 60 in January. We play pure live music with three guitars drums and a vocalist playing only music from that era.We don't use backing tracks or light shows just pure music as it was then. Living in England I liked all the British bands, Hermans Hermits, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Dave Clark Five, Dave Dee and so on plus the Beach Boys and Four Seasons. The Shadows were the best instrumental group and backed Cliff Richard. Elvis was OK I suppose but not my cup of tea really. Also Dusty Springfield, The Drifters, Bob Dylan, Electric Light Orchestra, I could go on forever. Wonderful, magical days. Listen to Sergeant Pepper by the Beatles, that says it all.

60's music is (to this day) the most diverse and great music to ever come along. Though I became a teen in the mid 50'sand I do love Doo Wop from that era, the sixties were really where it's at. Some of my favorites from that era were Buffalo Springfield, CSNY, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Wilson Pickett, The Platters (50's) The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Who, The Rolling Stones and of course, The Beatles.

I love the 60's I was born in 61 and the music from that decade was all worth listening to.
if only because actual musicians played real instruments and wrote their own songs.

Love it, but unfortuantely didn't get to live it (born in '82). My favorites are the Beatles, the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, CSNY, and many more.
