They are giving you a major clue on how to get this job !!!!
They are telling you that they see a steady stream of trashy people coming in there who don't really want to be there, only want to take, take, take and they are in a GIVING business. So they are saying to you, don't come in here looking like a street punk because we interview a dozen blue jeaned street punks every day. Take out your nose ring, cover your tattoos and brush your teeth and dress like your mother taught you and you WILL get this job.

That would mean, don't show alot of skin, wear a "professional" color ( black, grey, blue, silver or light blue), don;t over accsessorize ( like if your going to a club) , don't pile on makeup just accent your features ( try lipgloss, light blush your ussual mascara and eyeliner and shadow) but keep your outfit interesting and "personalized" by adding a cute bag that screams YOU, a pair of heels that is different than usual black pumps and BAM! you ahve the job...just my opinions...
just a suggestion....try a light grey trouser or knee length skirt, a violet, light puple or teal button up blouse ( with maybe some type of ruffles or cute buttons, a suit jacket with a scarf around your neck or something like that, proffessional, yet "fun and interesting....whatcha think?

the single most important thing to remember is to wear clothing that fits you properly. You can have the snappiest outfit but still look sloppy if it is too tight, too loose, too short or too long. You want your clothing to fit nicely. The second thing is don't go too trendy, don't go with the current fad- keep it classic, things that never go out of style and look "put together" without looking like it took 3 hours to put it together - keep it simple, clean, clean lines etc. You can have a little something to mirror oyur personality but you don't want to overdo it. Look professional- obviously no jeans, no denim, no sweats. Khaki or black slacks and a simple feminine button down, sweater or sweater set is nice. No t shirts obviously.
If I were you , I would visit some offices where the employees are out in the open dealing with clients and not stuffed behind cubicles, take note of how they are dressed, look in some catalogs put together some ideas, take some of your friends (who have style and whose advice you trust!)and go shopping!
Have fun

maybe a clean-cut cardigan with a lace tank top or a nice collared - button-down blouse under it and sleek, pinstripe pants. and possibly high heels or flats (solid neutral colors like dark blue, black, even red). And the heels shouldnt be more than 3-4 inches high or else you look sleazy.
your hair should be slicked back into a high ponytail or tight bun, but if you want to put it down, it should either be clean and straight, or sleek and curly. Nothing in between (like no frizz and if you do curl your hair, make sure its not messy looking). PS, NO LITTLE HAIR CLIPS. they look childish (those colorful ones) and dont ttry to attempt one of those intricate hair styles with clips all over and everything. it looks WAY too tacky.
HOPE I HELPED!! good luck!

Wear a tailored suit the best you can afford. Get it in dark navy. Don't ask me why but this color evokes the image of loyalty and it works.

assuming you are female I would suggest a simple pencil/fitted knee or just above the knee length skirt and a feminine shirt.

I would dress business casual.
Maybe a knee length black skirt, feminine top and black heels. Nothing crazy.
