Ok so every year my parents take me to some place in the world and i always miss the fun of new year with my friends and christmas with my family! Ok i know you're gonna say you have to thank your parents and be happy for this and blablabla this sort of crap but i never spend vacations with my friends here i always travel and i visited like half the world (i travel xmas sometimes easter and summer)! My parents usally have fun cuz they've got friends who come with us... This christmas i'm going to THAILAND and i'm not at all exited cuz i'm probably coming back with some sort of viruse or with all my money stolen or whatever (dunno if these are stereotypes or if they are true but who cares) the point is that will Thailand be fun? And will it be worth missing new year here? And what should i do to convice my parents to stay?

Just explain to them that it would mean a lot to you to be able to share the fellowship of the holidays with your friends.

Tell them you appreciate the opportunity to travel, but building memories and bonding with people at home is important to you also. If you're respectful about it, they'll probably hear you out and hopefully understand. I have always thought that building good relationships is more important for one's happiness than any amount of travel (which I love) or money.

Good luck, hope you get what you want!
