Gewurztraminer is a wonderful white wine to have with Thanksgiving dinner. It appeals to a wide variety of people, both red and white wine drinkers. Clean taste. Cuts through some of the heaviness typical of Thanksgiving food.

attempt a french Beaujolais Nouveau for Thanksgiving. those are Beaujolais that are 7 to 9 weeks previous. they are released the third Thursday in November to have a good time the harvest. a competent one from Beaujolais-Village appellation would set you back about 12 - 13 funds.

In my family you drink whatever you want!! I am thinking about making some Cranberry Mimosas (www.epicurious.com) or some Kir Royale (www.epicurious.com) for the guests but I always have a full bar for people who like to stick with the usual.

My ex-mother-n-law got me hooked.
Crock pot (or simmer in a regular pot)
Gallon of Apple Cider
1-2 bags of mulling spices (or cinnamon sticks) or both
Bottle of Captain Morgans Rum (spiced)
Drink plenty when it gets warm, it makes the holidays easier the more you drink at the in laws.
mmmm mmmm good
I don't like to taste alcohol so I do a little at a time from the morgans for my taste.

Punch, soda, wine. I always have a variety of drinks for my guests, depending upon who's coming. My MIL would freak out if there was alcohol at any event, so I don't serve it if she'll be present.

I serve red wine, white wine, glüwein (it's a German wine, very good and perfect for the holidays!), champagne, and/or apple and/or grape cider.
