Batman - no "special" powers other than being in prime shape, highly intelligent, and able to afford what he needs to kick SERIOUS A*S*S
<------------------------------------------------------------->
Follow Up - One person pointed out that Batman wasn't actually a "super hero" since he did not posses actual powers, but was more a vigilante.... I responded, and thought it would be good to note the response here as well just as an FYI:
Ahhh, but, if you look at the definition of "super hero", then he would come under that description, as would Green Arrow, the Punisher, Hawkeye, Catwoman - the list goes on and on. Comic heroes developed more for their extraordinary -or super- abilities ... some with more than human powers, some with remarkable human powers....[and most all of them could be considered vigilantes, ie. taking the law into their own hands, etc.]. Note the definition below:
"A superhero is a fictional character who is noted for feats of courage and nobility, who *usually* possesses abilities beyond those of normal human beings. Some superheroes, such as Batman and Green Hornet, possess no superpowers but have mastered skills such as martial arts and forensic sciences." In this sense, "mastered" would be interpreted as being better than "normal" human beings [like the average "joe on the street"] - this is their special or actual "power". Look at Green Lantern, Booster Gold or Iron Man - as individuals, they have no "Super" power - yet the gadgets they use GIVE them the powers they use.... how else do they get defined then? Trying to split the hair tends to make it difficult to put a good name to the various classes of heroes. Again, I'd find it difficult at best - if not dangerous - for an average person to take up superhero duty, where I could envision someone of remarkable ability doing so.
I'm not saying you are wrong - I completely understand your definition, though it is not the same as mine.
