So they must have some sort of following.
Personally, I read it as a late teen, early twenties. It is promoting a certain lifestyle, "The bold sexy independant woman". While there may be a small number who are the 'Ideal' Cosmo Girl, for the most part, it is entertaining and present the idea of a lifestyle one might like to have.
We all have a touch of the Cosmo Girl in us, but I think very few have the luxury to actually live that way.
