holes in the jar itself

I have never seen glass Mason jars for sale with holes drilled in them. If they are available at all, they are certainly not widely available because of limited demand and are also likely to be expensive. Best advice is to drill the holes yourself. Any hardware store or home center will sell special drill bits for drilling glass. If you do not have an electric drill, you can buy used ones at flea markets for a couple of dollars. Make sure you plug them in to see if they run before you make a purchase and make sure that the chuck key is included.

What to you use these jars for?

Good luck with your project.

You can buy a bit made to drill holes in glass from Home Depot. It's in the tool corral area with all the other bits. That might be the best way to get what you're looking for.
