I have always wondered why people get certain piercings done.
I have my ear pierced I got it done because I thought it would look good, it was a sign of me taking control of my own choices (no one else could make me do it but me) , Rebellion, its different and makes me a little more unique.
Why did you get yours? Im very interested to hear from people with alternative piercings (eye brows, tongue, back, privates etc) and multiple piercings.

Were you not worried that you could permenantly damage the area you got pierced?

"On the back of my neck just below collar line I have a cherub on a cloud. This is in honour of my son who died aged 5 weeks. It has his name and birth dates underneath."
Thank you for sharing that. I am moved! Thats beautiful.
I want to get a Tattoo to symbolise/honour my brother who died soon after birth.

i had eyebrow done, after split with girlfriend. Maybee it was the pain, to take my mind off it, re invent myself, or fear i was becoming boring (age) and since, had my top ear done, belly and nip.
I think that about maxes it out for a guy, without being a goth, and the rings are all plain gold rings, small, so descreetly rebelious.
My kids have various piercings (depending on age) so its cool/wiered, that i have too, especially to them! they now cant do it to be rebellious, only cause it looks good, to them, and my eldest daughter, is always telling people......yer my dads got his done!
I got back with girlfriend too, and we now have toddler, so maybee a change, or a statement, does do people good, and unlike tatoos, i can take em out, when im 80 !

I got my ears pierced when I was 16 because I wasn't allowed to get it done before then. at uni, I wanted another piercing and got my tragea done.

It was an unusual place to get a piercing at the time, which is one of the reasons I got it pierced the other being that it was subtle and quite dainty ;-)

It wasn't until I got it pierced that I was told that there are lots of nerve endings in this part of your ear and that could affect movement down the side of your face. Not sure if it's true or not, but I've not had any problems yet... touch wood!

even as body artwork would not decrease IQ, those who get piercings and tattoos benefit this because of their low IQs. So if the question is "are those who've piercings and tattoos a lot less sensible?" Then the answer is bound. some will inform you, "yo miaan. am a known practitioner and a've were given tattoos, blah blah." Leaving aside the actual shown actuality that docs are not fairly particular in any way even as it is composed of mind, a level isn't a competent indicator of severe IQ. i have seen those with Ph.d tiers from western international locations and their stupidity and shortage of understand-how can't be defined.

I got a PA done because i liked the idea of increasing the pleasure from that particular area, that was ten years ago and I am now up to a 00ga piece and both my wife and I love it.

If I don't want to share it with other people though, it is obviously totaly hidden at all other times.

I got my navel pierced because I thought it would look sexy. But I would not get a lot more because with too many tats and holes people start looking at those and not at you anymore. I want my personality to shine through. I want to wear the tat or the ring and not have them wear me.

I had my eyebrow pierced when I was 15. I just thought it was sexy. I wasn't rebelling though, my mom signed the paperwork.
