I just started taking Ortho Tricyclene lo in the middle of my cycle this month. I started with the pill that was the same day that I was on in my cycle. Since that I had been feeling pregnancy symptoms. Now, the side effects of the pill are the same as pregnacy symptoms, but now i"m almost done with the placeabo, and I should get my period by tomorrow, but I took a test on a whim becaue my breasts seemed so huge and they hurt. For some reason my hips hurt to, which was what I was like in my last pregnancy. SO I took the test and it was negative but my urine was diluted.
I took a test the next morning and it acted really weird. It didn't finish developing in the time frame. i had the negative, but there was dye collected around the positive line. so I came back half an hour later, and it was a cross (positive.) I can't relly get another test for about a week or so, in the mean time, what do you think?

I miscarried at 6-8 weeks, and i got the SAME result you did. I didnt think i was pregnant because it wasnt an official result, which technically its not. But ive heard other women tell the same story. They got a result like that and were pregnant, just very early on with low hormones.
I'd stop taking the pill until you can get a real test done. Since you're on BC just go down to your OB's office and request blood work for pregnancy, tell them urine tests have never worked for you and insist on it. Then you will know for sure.

There is that possibility that you are pregnant but with getting a positive a half hour after that test was taken could mean that you are pregnant. But I would not rely on that test alone. I really think that you could be pregnant the symptoms that you say that you have are all pregnancy symptoms but I really think that you need to take a another pregnancy test. The other thing is you were saying that you cant get another test for a week or so well if you are that worried then I would go to your local hospital or a planned pregnancy or call them and they will usually give you a free urine pregnancy test. And that is what I think that you need to do is go and get another test and make sure that you are pregnant. And I hope the best of luck to you and Congrats if you are pregnant. Let us know what the results are. I hope this helps.

Switch in birth control mid cycle, exactly what happened when i got pregnant with my third baby. I switched from depo to the patch, had spotting then pain, found out there was a baby in there. It sounds like you are pregnant. Make an appointment with your obgyn to get a test done. In the meantime, do not take anymore birth control pills until you've been checked out by your dr. There is such a thing as a false negative pg test, there is no such thing as a false positive.

I had an extremely faint line with my middle child that didn't show up until almost 10 minutes later but then they told me I should never have been able to determine pregnancy with a urine test b/c I was so early. so maybe thats the deal!

You are not supposed to read the test after 5 min because it can give you a false positive-it hapened to me.You are probably not pregnant if the other one came up negative.Next time-read the test only in the said time!

Sounds like you're pregnant, false positives (even when the results take a while) are rare. Get another test (you can buy them at the $ store), or wait if you have to.

This is what I would do to ease my worries.... I would go to my doctor. And if I couldn't get into my doctor to see him, then I would go to the ER. Even though it is not necessarily an emergency, but I know I would sleep better at night knowing what was going on inside of my body. AND knowing that I was healthy. Good luck to you.
