I had 2 interviews today and the one just doesn't seem to suit the position. She never looked very professional, or amused about it. She would probably like a faster paced job. How do I tell her that she didn't get the job? I told her that I'd call with an answer before I left...HELP!

Maybe something like 'Thank you for taking the time to come in but we've decided to go with another candidate.' I've heard this one before myself!

To answer your question, you call her and tell her that you appreciate her applying but your company had decided on another applicant.

On a side note: I myself would never seem "amused" at a job interview about said job. How do you know she'd like a faster paced job, did you ask her or are you assuming because you liked the other applicant better?

You interviewed folks for a job...but you don't know what to tell them?

Does not compute.

All you have to say is, "I'm sorry, we offered the position to someone else." You don't need to give any further explanation than that.
