The quick movement to get out of Iraq at any cost seems to demonstrate a willingness of democrats to stomp on the honor of this country and all those defenders of freedom that have given their lives for us. Instead of holding tough with Iran and Syria and the terrorist they are showing weakness. America needs to speak out and let them know this is a proud country and will not permit sacrifices made to be ignored.

Americans are becoming used to democrats giving up things our ancestors worked hard for. The spirit of America will rebound and those who are so willing to give away our gains will feel the punishment. Lack of leadership is almost as bad as bad leadership which is what the Murtha crowd and our new house speaker display in saying one thing before the election and doing something else after. We need to be strong and push Iran and Syria to stop funding and encouraging revolt in Iraq. Much more can be accomplished by letting those two countries know they will feel the pain if they do not stop their support of radical groups like hamas, Hezbollah and other terrorist. I favor using our weapons on Iran and Syria if any terrorist in Iraq is found to come from their country.PERIOD

You like so many others seem to forget all about Vietnam and the sacrifices, useless sacrifices, made there so that big corporations could become bigger. We got out then on the abrupt side of things at a far greater loss of lives than those in Iraq. When oil controls so much what makes anyone think that we can stand tough on Iran and Syria we have most of our forces in Iraq and afganny.Where would we get the troops and let us not forget that Iran and Syria knows this as well. The honorable thing to do in Iraq is to get a time table going that we adhere to say 12 months let them know that we are not going to stay there forever and be policemen for them, try to get the services ect back to the level they were in Saddam times, and let them know that we are not in their country to stay.

Unfortunately, humility and blindness have not won anything... not even respect. It appears there are so many remaining totally unaware of what the consequences are, regarding a move out of Iraq. Time is not going to be kind. The future holds some pretty grim consequences for us, as well as most of the civilized world. Even the news today reveals the conflict in Africa has involved Chad...spilling over from another country. It is just in the beginning stage and is going to progress into more countries than are already in a death fight, to retain their countries.

This battle is not something new, nor related to Iraq.. there have been battles to overcome countries and governments, and US installations for the past 20 years or more. They will not stop there either. The US is the biggest target and will probably be the last one to succumb to the onslaught that is coming.

Ahhhh, the power of politics. The Dems are eager to make sweeping changes due to the knee-jerk reaction of some of the American public, as seen through the eyes of the liberal media. They'll do what they can to get a Democratic president in there in 2008. Power and politics, my friend, that's what it's all about. Withdrawing now is going to make us suffer dearly later on. But... that's the way American power and politics are, and how they are different from idealistic extremists across the globe.

I was re-deployed to Iraq at the age of 56 and had been out of the Marines since 1976. Im sorry but I saw no honor in the things that I saw going on over there. Since you are so gung ho, I hope you will be the first one at the recruiters office in the morning.

Getting out of Iraq dosent show weakness, not in my opinion anyway. It is a mess over there, im in the army and was there when the war started. We should just leave and let iraq go on with their own lifestyle. We cant go in there and try to set up a government like ours..... they have been living their own way for hundreds of years. Why should soldiers spend the rest of their lives in iraq because 1 person wanted to invade???? It dosent make sense to me.

Honor is a childish notion when you think about the lives that are being destroyed every day overseas. I think we need to quit worrying about abstract absurdities and nineteenth militarism and be grown ups who admit when they've made a mistake. It's time to fix the problem. Now.

Oh come on, this war is the laughing stock of the whole world. So killing more of our soldiers needlessly is how we honor sacrifices?
