I have been experiencing the "pins and needles" sensation in my right thigh - on and off, for a few weeks now. My doc said its nothing to concern myself about (i'm 17wks 6 days pregnant) but last night it was tingling that like for about 30mins and then i got an almighty crap down my whole right leg (whilst grocery shopping! Lucky i could hold onto the shopping trolley! haha).

Has anyone else experienced this at all? Any advice at all?

Thanks in advance! :)

Its normal, usually its not until later in the pregnancy (5-6 months), but everyone is put together differently.

There is a main nerve and artery that runs through the pelvis and down the right leg. The weight of the uterus triggers cramps, tingles, pains, and shooting pains in your legs, especially the right.

If its something that concerns you (a lot of women fear they have blood clots because of the loss of sensation and pins and needles) voice them to your doctor. He can run blood work and make sure theres nothing odd going on.

But its extremely common to have those pain and cramps and tingles during pregnancy, especially in your right leg. Make sure you're eating a banana every day for potasium, this helps with leg cramps, and stretch every day and walk :)

Yes. It sounds like the baby is pushing on an nerve which is very common. When I was pregnant with my second child she would constantly push on a certain nerve that would send a shot of pain down my leg. It continued until the end of the pregnancy and everyone would laugh at me because sometimes I would have to do a little dance to make her stop. It was uncomfortable but it won't do any long-term damage.

Depends on wherein within the hand. Could be carpal tunnel or it would be cubital tunnel. I had cubital tunnel and it makes your pinky facet of your hand tingly like that. I needed to get surgical procedure on my ulnar nerve (that is your humorous bone.) Sometimes it may be constant with healing even though. Mine had gotten beyond pins and needles even though, my hands had been numb and curling and I was once visibly wasting muscle in that hand. Just google your signs, it is helping plenty.

You are probably experiencing pressure on a nerve, or blood flow is constricted. Do you have more problems after sitting or lying down? Try changing your position if so.

yes, it's totally natural! it sucks sometimes cause the pain is unbearable most of the time, but hey it happens, try getting massages every now and then to improve circulation and sleep with ur feet and legs propped up. exercise and drink plenty of water! good luck!

OMG. I had the same problem and it would keep me up at night. Someone told me to eat a bananna at night. It worked for me. Don't know if it was mental or what but I ate them everynight and didn't have a problem anymore.

I heard this is normal, but they don't know why it happens. If it really bugs you, ask your Dr. again, but I don't think there's a treatment for it.
