you should be able to twist your drain plug to the left or right about a half turn and pull it out - drain-o and those other products are great for light drain clogs but more than likely, especially with you bath tub drain its probably hair build-up and depending on how long or how many times you have already used a drain clearer it could really be a problem -- unscrewing the drain is a pain in the butt - but if u can get it out - running an auger through the drain pipes would be perfect - there are all types of augers - i recommend u rent or buy a hand auger from home depot or lowes - when u get the auger push it until u hit the clog then twist it to break up or grab whatever was clogging your drain - if you don't want to spend the money get a wire clothes hanger- straighten it out and work it down in your drain - if hair is clogging your drain u might need a little bend on the tip so you can pull the hair out (tedious process but it will work)- make sure u have on gloves b/c it can get nasty - if your drain is clogged u probably have standing water and you'll know when you found the clog real quick b/c your tub will empty -

I have try ed several commercial drain cleaners, the best yet is to dip out all the water you can then pour baking soda in the drain and add vinegar to it it will foam and bubble let it do so for a few minutes then use plunger and run hot water. the best way to keep drains clean of clogs is to pour baking soda and vinegar in them at least once a month

Seven hours is a long time to wait for the best answer. I hope you haven't been sitting in water all that time. Put some water in the tub, open the drain, and use shhhhhhh, don't tell anyone. Use the toilet plunger! Honest, it works every time. It is just hair and soap that has it plugged. Put the plunger back in it's place and no one will know!

That's a pain. I had to deal with that. Wanted to run a snake in it, but couldn't get the drain cover off. I ended up using Drano Gel. Worked perfectly.

There is a small set screw underneath the drain plug. If you get a flashlight, you should be able to see where to turn the allen head screw to loosen it. Then it will come off, & you can uses any store bought drain auger to remove the blockage.

If you need to run a snake through to clear the clog then I recommend you remove the overflow plate (removing the drain itself is difficult and does not allow a strait run) Run your snake through the overflow and you can easily get to the trap to clear the clog.

depends on the type of drain if its a lift and turn
then lift it up and there is a phillips screw down
on the side unscrew and pull off
if its a toe tap (spring loaded ) then turn knob
(unscrew ) and theres another flat head screw unscrew and if its hair or scum use DRIAN O GEL

Just pour Draino down , you don't have to remove anything, just make sure its up so the liquid can go down. instructions are on the bottle.
