If you need to work this out the long way in order to understand it, the best thing to do would be to cross multiply. A percentage is always out of 100...so, figure out the total number of games first:

22+10=32, So, they have won 22/32 games--now is where you cross multiply to figure that out as a percentage:

22/32=?/100

To find out the ? you multiply the top number from one set (in this case, the 22 from 22/32) by the bottom number in the other set (?/100) and then divide it by the remaining number.

So, (22*100) / 32
= 2200/32
=68.75

Do the same for the second question:

26 + 8 = 34

26/34 = ?/100
(26*100) /34
=2600 / 34
=76.47

I know that's a lot more information than the people who have just given you the answer, but I want to help you understand how to do it yourself so that you know what you're doing on a test.

I hope you understand how I worked it out.

22 wins + 10 losses = 32 total games.
so they won 22 out of 32. Take 22 and divide it by 32 which = .68
Move the decimal 2 places to the right, and you have 68% wins.

same with the next one:
26 wins + 8 losses = 34 total games.
so they won 26 of 34 games. Take 26 and divide it by 34 which = .76
Move the decimal 2 to the right, and you have 76% wins.

the team won 22 and lost 10. this means that they played 32 games alltogether.

the percentage can be found using the following calculation:

(games won / all games played) x 100 =
(22/32) x 100 = 68.75%

the record is

(26/32) x 100 = 81.25%

The percentage of wins is 81.25%.
