Yes, why not, they are just people like everyone else. If you have ginger hair, are short {like me} or tall, or have curly hair or are in a wheelchair, or smell should we treat them differently. Being gay is just about liking a different sex not about being "different" as an oditiy. I am straight but I know gay people and I treat them no differently. Having ginger hair etc is what makes us us and the same is said for your sexual preference. You can't choose that, you are born with it. I am sure my son is going to be gay, he's 6 and I feel that that is the way he will go, have said so since he was aobut 18 months. Nothing wrong with that, just his way. If he's gay or straight it won't make a difference to how I treat him, he is my son and I will love and adore him however he is. Sometimes when you see a heterosexual couple snogging in the street it is really off putting as you really feel that that should be a private moment between them behind closed doors. It happens every day and no one says anything, well maybe a few glances. But if a gay did that they would get arrested! Not fair! There is so much racial hatred around at the moment that we really don't need to add to this and create more. I think there is more acceptance for gay people today in our society. I make handcrafted wedding stationery and had a same sex couple come to me the other day to make some stuff for them, specifically because they can't find anything suitable for them out there in the retail industry. Get a grip everyone, it's all about love anyway and if we had more of it, doesn't matter where it comes from, we'd all be a lot happier!!! Nuff said!

What exactly makes them different from anyone else? The fact that their intimacy is different? Or is it that their depths of love go beyond male or female? Gays are exactly the same as straights. They are all human beings with big hearts and feelings too. The fact that they feel the same way you feel, but for the same sex should not decide your treatment towards them. As a matter of fact it's irrelevant who they love and make love. Would you treat me any differently if my boyfriend was hot or ugly? Would you care? So why meddle in a gay person's business like that? :)

No. Gays are different
For those who believe in God and think it is all right for the same sex to be together, then you should read the Bible a little more carefully. The Bible doesn't say to tolerate gays. It says to kill them.
For the minister who wrote he/she believes it is all right. Well, the bible also talks of false prophets, etc. In today’s world anyone can claim to be that with a nice little check in the mail. If you think a title will get you to heaven, think again...
For those who are not religious... I say this. I personally don't care to see the same sex together. I am sure I have worked with gays and on a professional level I will treat them no different than anyone else, but I don't choose to socialize with them outside of work.

Yes, they should be treated like everyone else and have a right to be proud of who they are without hatred aimed toward them. It's just not gays but everyone else who is being discriminated for something (gender, ethnicity, religion, etc.)

Answer:
Yes I do, but your question is a loaded question.
The point of your question seems to be this: "If gays should be treated like everyone else then they don't need to be viewed as a minority group with all the protection that comes with being a minority group."
Your question seems to have a possible hint of the usual bigotry in it, but I have news for you, and people like you. Gay people are here to stay and at this point no amount of hate, and exclusion behvior are never going to stop them from being who they are.
I suggest you be strong and accept it and move on with your own life.

Are "gays" not part of the human race or something now?
Oh that's right, they come from the planet Gaydon and require absurd amounts of a mineral called Gayonium. Very rare and important. They came to our planet about 50 years or so ago and now have decided they like Earth and our abundance of Gayonium.
Grow up and take your head out of your @ss.

of course. okay so they are attracted to people of their own gender but so what? gay and lesbian people have jobs and hobbies, earn their living and live their lives as hetrosexual people do. in fact, no matter whether they are black/white/asian, male/female, young/old, straight/gay and regardless of their nationality we are all human beings still. and gay and lesbian people deserve to be treated with dignity, respect and treated equally just like everyone else .besides, what they do and who they do it with is their decision and their choice and their business.

Yes except marriage. i think they should have civil unions with all teh same rights or they can invent a proper name for the union of a man and a man or a woman and a woman. Marriage is a man and a woman.
Oh and stay away from my kids.
