Also, the very first video cassette to be priced only $20 bucks was 1989's 'BATMAN'. Before, Batman you MIGHT find a video for 50 or 60 bucks. And that was just a year or two before. Before 1986, the cheapest movie on video tape was 100 bucks. Serious collectors only then, I tell ya! However, you could rent a movie. In 1981, I could rent a movie for 5 bucks and keep it 4 days. Then, around 1983, when video stores started booming, I could rent a movie for 3 or 4 bucks for 2 days. But back then, if you brought the movie back a day early, they would give you a plastic coin worth one dollar off your next rental. Almost all video stores did this. Plus, you could save them up and get totally free rentals. ;-)

well it might have been 1976 but i remember the first time i waited for a movie to hit vhs (star wars movies) and it was some 5 years before it did.
