Yes it is typical but if you need to have questions answered you can always call and schedule an appointment they won't mind.

This is very typical. My doctor's office is the same way. They like to be able to hear the heartbeat the first time you come in cause it helps them determine by how strong the heartbeat is whether or not it sounds healthy. At my first appointment when I was pregnant with my daughter they checked the heartbeat and also did an internal ultrasound which was pretty cool. That is how they told approx. how far along I was and the heartbeat told them based on how strong it was if it was a healthy heartbeat and normal. So, I know it is hard waiting to go to the doctor's office and have them confirm everything you have been going through, but it will be well worth it to go on your first visit and hear you baby's first heartbeat and possible see the baby for the first time.
Well, good luck and I hope all goes well for you during your pregnancy. Keep me posted on everything.

My OB was VERY conservative, so she saw me for blood tests right away to measure HcG and progesterone levels. I also had ultrasounds done at 6 weeks to make sure there was a heartbeat. I then came back at around 10 weeks to HEAR the heartbeat in the office on a doppler. Sometimes you can't hear the heartbeat until 10 weeks, so don't freak out if you don't hear one at 9 weeks (without ultrasound). Depends on where you are from and the OB practice. If you are feeling any pain (esp. sharp pain), you should have an ultrasound done earlier to rule out an ectopic pregnancy.
Oh, by the way..... CONGRATULATIONS!

Yes, very typical. During early pregnancy, you usually only see your doctor once a month. Once you are further along, like roughly six months or so then your visits increase to every two weeks, then at the end, every week. So, don't be alarmed about not seeing your dr more than once a month. Congratulations!

First of all - congratulations!
I had my first doctor's appointment to confirm results with a blood test after I took a HPT and then I had an appointment when I was 7 weeks along for my first ultrasound and we heard the heartbeat then.

Yes, my doctor never saw me until I was at least 10 weeks. They do that because as you said there isn't much to see or do at that point. They also want to wait until you are closer to the point where chance of a miscarriage is lower. I know it is going to feel like forever waiting to get in there and make sure everything is okay but by the end of the pregnancy you will be tired of visiting that waiting room.

Yes it is. You have nothing to worry about. Right now the baby is only about the size of your pinkie nail. They wont be able to see anything until your 8-9 weeks along. Congratulation.

Yes. It's normal. My doctor didn't see me until I was 11 weeks after confirming the pregnancy. It sounds scary but the time will fly. And then you will see so much of your doctor that you won't mind the delay.

yes, so normal! First I make an appt and go see the OB nurse only, I was 5 weeks pregnant then and they told me ok and you dont see the doctor until after your 9th week. So I made my appt then. Some dont even see you at all until after your 9th week.
Dont worry NORMAL

Yes and you will be fine. Just do not do anything strenuous. Make sure you start now to eat well and get good rest. Start drinking plenty of water. And relax you will be fine.
Congratulations and Good Luck.
